Tips How To Decorate Fish Bowl Weddings Centerpieces

Don't limit the fishbowl to a mere home for fish. This object has many decorating possibilities for an upcoming reception, including table centerpieces, a theme decoration, or even a container for edible objects. Fishbowls can be used for a wide variety of reception styles as well. While some may be more detailed with special designs, shapes, or even colors, most standard fishbowls can suit any affair if they are incorporated correctly.

1. Use fishbowls as table centerpieces for an elegant wedding reception. Fill the fishbowl a quarter of the way with sand or stones. If using stones, purchase those at craft stores and choose a color that ties in with the wedding theme. Place a simple candle on top of the stones and light the candles right before the reception starts. Dim the lights, and allow your fishbowl candle centerpieces to set a romantic tone.

2. Create a floral arrangement for any type of reception within a series of fishbowls to create a fresh look. Arrange the flowers so that the fishbowl serves as the vase. Trim the flower stems so that they don't lean over the side of the bowl. The idea is to arrange the flowers so that they are snug and no more than two inches above the fishbowl rim.

3. Fill your fishbowls half way with potpourri for a reception centerpiece that also smells good. Collect flower petals from your garden along with miniature pinecones which can be found in some parks or even specialty craft stores. Add a few flower petals and no more than three pinecones to each fishbowl. Sprinkle a few drops of complimentary essential oil on the potpourri. Fill the fishbowls the rest of the way with baby oil. This mixture also serves as homemade bath oil, so use your concoction to relax after the reception ends.

4. Buy small fishbowls and fill them with sliced fruit such as lemon, one-third of the way to the top. Add vibrant flowers and fill the bowl with sparkling water to create a fresh centerpiece. Consider using the fishbowls as punch bowls if you are having an underwater themed reception or if you just want to try something different.
