Base your treats on your theme. If you're having a casual Las Vegas destination ceremony, poker-themed tokens are a perfect idea for your guests.

If your event has an Asian theme, love chopsticks or flower paper fans will keep with the style of your ceremony and reception.

No matter what theme you choose, you'll find unique wedding favors to complement your style.

The next step is deciding on the colors you will use in your favors. Many people use coming holidays as the inspiration behind the colors used in their wedding decorations. Other people are influenced by the seasons or surroundings for their choice of colors. If you and your better half have favorite colors that go well together, maybe you could use them. Any color-scheme is a good color-scheme if it makes your wedding more unique and special to you.

The next step is how outrageous you'd like to go. If your wedding is small and down home, maybe you want a quaint accent piece as your wedding favors. This would be more simple to make, and would probably cost less. Or perhaps your wedding is going to be something huge and extravagant, in which case a bolder, larger piece would be more befitting. Keep in mind, however, that the bigger you go, the more money and time you are going to be putting into the makings of your favors. However, any amount of money and time should be well worth it if it means a more perfect day for the two of you.

Now that you might have an idea of what you want the favors to be, you can look into some materials. Some people favor shells over decorative plates, and some people like flowers while others prefer candles. All that matters is what looks right to you. Once the materials are gathered, you have to assemble them. This part requires a lot of hot glue, so you have to remember to put that on your shopping list. In the next paragraph I will describe how to make a few displays that I have seen used in the past.

Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life, so you want it to be perfect, right? Naturally! But what do you do if you're on a tight budget that doesn't allow for fancy decor? If this is the case on your big day, then DIY wedding favors is the solution for you! In this article you can find inexpensive, easy solutions to your decorating needs.

Another good place to start is in tradition. Do you two have something you do together often? Do your families have any traditions you would like to include? Is there anything that you two have in common such as hobbies that you take part in together, or a recurring event that you attend? Any of these things can be included if you feel they represent what you and your better half believe in or enjoy doing. It is all a matter of what part of your wedding you want people to take home to remember.

How to Make a Beach Themed Wedding Favor

Are you planning a beach wedding? Themed weddings let you get creative with things like invitations, flowers and favors. This beach themed wedding favor gives wedding guests a fun memento of your special day and also helps decorate your reception tables. Follow these easy instructions to make your own beach themed wedding favors.

Some necessaries:

* Small metal pails (one for each favor)

* Votive candles (one for each favor)

* Sand

* Small seashells

* Scissors

* Ribbon (1/4 to 1/2 inch wide, white or in a color that compliments your wedding décor)

* Spray paint (optional)

1. Purchase small metal pails that are large enough to insert a votive candle. There should be at least 1 inch between the candle and the sides of the pail. You can typically find these pails at craft stores.

2. Spray paint the pails to match your wedding décor, if desired. If you can find pails that match your wedding colors, you can consider yourself lucky and skip this step. You can also stencil beach themed shapes (such as shells, palm trees or beach balls) on the pails if desired.

3. Fill the bottom of each pail with 1 inch of sand. You can buy sand at a craft store or less expensive "play sand" at a home improvement store. You may also consider collecting sand from the very beach you are going to be married on to personalize your favors.

4. Put a votive candle in each pail and press them into the sand.

5. Arrange seashells around each votive, filling the space between the candle and the pail. You can buy seashells at a craft store or collect them from the beach.

6. Cut an 8- to 12-inch piece of ribbon for each favor. You can adjust the length based on the desired look. For a larger bow, cut a longer piece.

7. Tie a bow around the handle of each pail. You can tie it in the center of the handle or where the handle is attached to the pail.
